WELSH ENTRIES

In order to avoid duplication and for ease of reference entries referring to
material in Welsh have been added to the corresponding English entry, for
example,

education

elementary, ii:3-4,9-10; iii:207-30;
iv:353-73

The material in volume ii and iii is in English, and in volume iv in Welsh.

Welsh entries are in bold.

But where there is an entry in Welsh only, it is listed in the index in Welsh.

Cross references are made from the English entry,

for example,

Aber-ffrwd
school

see Aber-ffrwd: ysgol
ysgol, iv:367,368

ALWAYS LOOK UNDER THE GENERIC TERM AND THE SPECIFIC
TERM IN BOTH ENGLISH AND WELSH.

Examples:

1. Under the general term printing you will find

printing, iv:28

Printing also appears as a sub-heading to several place-names including
Aberystwyth, Adpar, Cardigan, Llandysul and Tregaron.
Entries appear under

Gwasg Aberystwyth

Gwasg Cambrian News

Gwasg Caxton Hall

Gwasg Gee

Gwasg Gomer

as well as several entries under the Lewis family of Gwasg Gomer, for
example, John David and Rhys.

2. Under the general term nonconformity you will find

nonconformity

and politics, v:318
early

see anghydffurfiaeth gynnar
